What materials do you use for the portraits?
I primarily use professional-quality acrylics for painted portraits and professional-grade pencils for drawn portraits. Drawings are made on acid-free archival paper.
How do you create the family tree installations?
You have the option of creating a family tree with or without portraits, on one large sheet of paper or on one for each portrait, and framed or not framed. Each of these choices effect the process for creating family trees.
How long does it take to complete an ancestor portrait or family tree installation?
The duration of the project can vary significantly depending on the complexity of the portrait or installation and the level of detail required. On average, you can expect the process to take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.
Can I request specific designs or themes for the artwork?
Absolutely! I encourage your input at the beginning of the creative process to ensure the final product reflects your vision and preferences.
How are the portraits and installations shipped?
All artwork is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely. Shipping is available worldwide.
Can I see a draft of the portrait or family tree installation before it's completed?
No. Unlike with my design services, I do not share works in progress or incorporate rounds of feedback into my visual art. The best time to provide direction is at the start of the commission, by sharing images of other pieces/styles you like for inspiration. You can expect the final artwork to be roughly in the style of my prior work (see https://art.airloom.space).
